What is Osteopathic Medicine?

Osteopathic Medicine focuses on healing and maintaining the function of the entire body.

  • The person is a unit of body, mind, capable of self-regulation, self-healing, and maintenance.

  • Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated.

We value whole person well-being and stress preventative care .

DO's study medical science and receive extensive training in the musculoskeletal system. We use OMM/OMT to complement our skill set to treat and avoid potentially harmful medications or procedures.

What is OMM/OMT?
  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

  • Osteopathic Manual Treatment

  • Techniques that  DO's use to address the musculoskeletal part of disease in addition to medicines and other treatments.

  • Techniques include: counter strain, myofascial release,  muscle energy, high-velocity low amplitude, balanced ligamentous tension, cranial sacral, Dr. Vo creates a tailored treatment plan for each patient with all of the above OMT techniques.

  • Though some techniques may be similar, Osteopathic physicians are NOT chiropractors.

Osteopathic philosophy,  assessment, treatment,  and accredited medical training separate us significantly from other practitioners. We are doctors of medicine with a comprehensive understanding of the body and its processes.
